A Story Under The Water #2

"Clear."

That was her name. She had thought of it on her won. Nobody else called her by that name. Everyone called her 'Majesty' and treated her with respect, more like an outcast, she thought.

She had two dreams. Only two. One was to fly, not like the flying fishes did, that would be falling-in-style apparently. She wanted to fly like the seagulls, through the sky. Another was even more superficial than the previous, that was to fall in love.

There weren't any other creatures like her under water, as a matter of fact, she was the only mermaid and will be. It would be tough falling in love when you're treated like a deity, she thought.

On her first day of her life, when she was born, technically when she just 'popped up' in this world, she saw the moonlight touching the coral. She then saw the sky, it was dark and could see small dots, twinkling; stars, she knew them. She knew it all, when she came into being.

"Clear."

She liked the name. One night she was swimming, which is something she did all the time, she put her hand out towards the sky, unfolded her fist, stretched it out as far as she could. She peered at it with an eye closed, tried to fit the sky and close the fist with 'all' in it. That was the first time, a smile came on her face. It shone more than the moonlight hitting the corals.
