The Inimitable Jeeves - P G Wodehouse

"We Woosters do not lightly forget. At least, we do - some things - appointments, and people's birthdays, and letters to post, and all that - but an absolutely bally insult like the above".

And, this book is just so hilarious. There are jokes, puns and basically the comic sense, this guy, I mean, P G Wodehouse, sir, is an amazing at what he does. How does he do that? The wide smile never leaves the face, keeps happy the whole way till the end. Need a stress buster?! Try this, it's effect never wears off.

"When Cynthia smiles," said Bingo, "the skies are blue; the world takes on a roseate hue; birds in the garden trill and sing, and Joy is king of everything, when Cynthia smiles". He coughed, changing gears.
"When Cynthia frowns ---"
"What the devil are you talking about?"
"I'm reading you poem. The one I wrote to Cynthia. I'll go on, shall I?"
"No".
"No?"
"No, I haven't had my tea".

Here comes Bingo, this guy falls in love with every second girl. He falls for Mabel (waitress), Cynthia and so on. Yeah 'so on'. Rosie M Banks is introduced in this book. There are short stories in it, agreed, they are sequential and makes it closer to a novel format, different from the usual.

Jeeves is loveable in the stories, not not only that, 'invincible' would be proper to say. The way he would joke about Bertie's fashion, sometimes the violet socks, a cummerbund and more. Bertie Wooster is also loveable in his amiable goofing, loafing around doing nothing. Loved it.

The book has a catchy start and it holds well, really onto the reader. When Bertie travels, to midway, it does loosen up, only to give a fantastic and to this volume. Till the very last word, "Very good, sir," said Jeeves, the book is enjoyable. It's the way Wodehouse writes that makes it so funny. Salute to him!
